Sunday 1st March 2015 is The Sydney Skinny Event 3rd annual nude ocean swim! This risqué activity is all the fun of swimming but with an added adrenaline rush. It’s all for a good cause and a great excuse to cross out one of your bucket list activities.
This is a non-spectator event, where participants go skinny-dipping in a beautiful area. So, what’s so special about this ocean swim? It is not a race and it’s only 900m or a 300m swim in a protected and calm beach in one of Sydney’s hidden locations – Cobblers Beach at Middle Head.
Feeling adventurous? Why not head down to Cobblers beach? It is after all a long weekend and join Sydneysiders on a fun skinny dip.
According to the organiser, Nigel Marsh, says that a lot of people use the event to ‘throw aside concerns of body image, to connect with nature and celebrate living with more courage and kindness.’
He also continues to say and makes a great point that we monitor almost all aspects of our life: health, finances and our relationships. Yet we don’t equally monitor our sense of adventure.
What is life without a bit of fun and adventure, right?
Have you ever felt like life is a little dull?
That you’d like to celebrate overcoming one of life’s challenges? Or say “enough” to the pressures or negativity in your world?
Do away with all the negative body images and ignite your sense of fun and challenge and go skinny-dipping.
Below are some tips on how to plan a skinny –dip:
1.Choose your location wisely.
Ensure you go to a secluded beach where there is very little chance of shocking any innocent spectators (as far I’m concerned they could always look the other way).
Safest option would be your friends or your own pool but it’s not as exciting. The thrill of getting caught and the real ‘nature’ experience is done away with.
2. Find partner in crime
Get all your friends on board for skinny-dipping; imagine the fun it could turn out to be.
3. Choose when to do it.
Late afternoon is probably the best time to accomplish your naughty adventure. This is the best time of the year with its long and warm days. Late afternoon and even night time skinny-dipping can help the more self-conscious come out of their shells.
4. Just go for it
Don’t overthink this, you are near the water dive in and just forget yourself for a while. Play in the water, swim, splash around and dive. The end result you’ll feel rejuvenated, naughty and ready for some more naughty adventures ahead if you play your cards well.
