But it looks like things are changing for Larry Emdur, who has been named as Sexy Australian Of The Year by website, Red Hot Pie.

The 50-year-old beat some big names for the top gong, including Today Show host Karl Stefanovic, supermodel Elle Macpherson, Victoria’s Secret Model Shanina Shaik and actors Liam and Chris Hemsworth – who is currently People’s Sexiest Man Alive.

Poking some fun at the situation, the Morning Show host took to Instagram on Thursday to proudly show off his trophy.

‘Being voted Sexy Australian of the Year is a bit weird,’ he captioned the social media snap.

‘Beating Hemsworth and Elle Macpherson is kinda cool, but beating @karlstefanovic is the best feeling EVER!,’ he added, playfully poking fun of the pair’s friendly rivalry.

Followers were quick to share their congratulations, with one fan writing: ‘I’m so proud of you!’

Fellow television host Karl came in fourth, while stunner Shanina landed the second position.

Despite being named People’s Sexiest Man Alive last year, Chris Hemsworth was lumped with his young brother Liam in third place.

The top 10 list also consisted of politician Jacqui Lambie, sportsman Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin, rapper Iggy Azalea and Aussie band 5 Seconds Of Summer.

Despite being American, sometimes model and occasional DJ Gabi Grecko also made the list.
