It is back again and happening on the 8th of March in Melbourne. Clothing is optional, participants may ride ‘as bare as they dare’, whatever their comfort zone. Some people will be stark naked and some will bare only a little and then there will be those who’ll use body paint to their advantage to tease all the onlookers. Naked or not, helmets are a must.

This year, in honour of Alberto Paulon, a bicycle rider who lost his life after an alleged car ‘dooring’, the nude bike ride will make a detour past Sydney Road in Brunswick where the incident happened last week. A moment’s silence will be observed and the ride will continue on. This is why the World Naked Bike Ride happens across the world to remind people the roads are for everyone to share.

Cyclists in Melbourne are to meet at, the Fox Hotel Collingwood at 12noon to move off at around 1pm and finish at Royal Park in Parkville. An hour before the ride cyclists shed their clothes according to the ride theme “as bare as you dare.

This is a party but also a protest, but since we have a love for anything that is wild, fun and nude we thought we show our support in acknowledging this event. You should too.

In case you want to go next year and you are a nude-biking virgin, here’s a list of things to make your ride as comfortable as possible while you let it all hang out.

1. Wear SPF 50. Make sure to pay special attention to those places where the sun (very often) doesn’t shine.

2. Bring a bag. You’re not going to have pockets, but you’ll need somewhere to put your phone, keys, money and your clothes.

3. Double-check your bike seat. You’re going to be up close and personal with your bike seat. Make sure the shape itself is comfortable and maybe get a new seat cover if you notice fraying, tears or other stuff that could make you even more uncomfortable than showing off your goods to strangers.

4.Wear a disguise. So you are brave enough to go full frontal, but you still don’t want just anyone taking pics of you and putting them on the internet consider some sort of disguise, like a mask, a bandanna and big sunglasses paired with a hat or wig, or use body paint all over your body and face. It might also be a good idea to keep toward the centre of the pack, too.

This past weekend, Western Australian took to Swanbourne Beach in an attempt to beat the World Record of skinny-dipping and it got very close with the bid falling only 73 people short of the Guinness Book of World Records mark of 744. Awesome turn out!

Sydney siders and Melbournians equally had a chance these past two weekends to participate on the World Naked Bike Ride, “As Bare As You Dare”, which raises awareness for a perplexing array of issues, one being positive body issues. Hundreds of naked or semi-naked participants took to the roads and bike rode through the streets to show their support.

Without going in too much depth on the consequences of negative body images have in our daily lives. It suffices to say that these negative attitudes have detrimental effects on how we see ourselves, how it affects our enjoyment of life, our relationships and our sex lives.

Nothing should rob us of the pleasure to use our bodies regardless of shape and size to do things we love and enjoy. All bodies have good and bad. Once you feel comfortable in your own skin, you become more appealing to others. You radiate confidence, happiness and demonstrate self-respect, qualities that are great aphrodisiacs. A 46-year-old woman from Lipetsk, Russia was found naked outside her apartment by a neighbour with her head stuck in a staircase handrail, Digital Spy reports.

She was stranded there during a voyeuristic romp with her boyfriend. Quite the gentleman, this guy. He fled the scene, leaving his lover to free herself, and was nowhere to be found when the police arrived.

Having embraced their share of risque advertising in the past PETA will use imminent changes to internet domain names to register themselves to operate the www.peta.xxx website.

“Our racier actions are sometimes a way to get people to sit up and pay attention to the plight of animals.”Internet surfers who “accidentally” delve into the x-rated site will initially be presented with the animal rights groups too hot for TV ads and campaigns.

Cirque Du Soleil has been mesmerising audiences young and old all around the world and as a long time fan, I was keen to check out one of their seven permanent shows in Las Vegas. I knew I wasn’t likely to be disappointed by any of them but given one should walk on the wicked side while in Vegas, I chose Zumanity, Cirque Du Soleil’s only adult-oriented show (showing at New York – New York Hotel & Casino).

Zumanity, described as “the Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil,” combines the usual amazing range of acrobatics with seduction, and a good pinch of adults-only fun. It opened in 2003 but as any fan of Cirque Du Soleil would attest, their shows are timeless and the dynamic energy of the troupe keeps them fresh and exciting. Zumanity is certainly no exception and especially given its naughty theme, it’s probably never going to date unlike some Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals.

As you take your seat, you become familiar with the Cirque Du Soleil stage layout; a huge performance area with seats all around, affording everyone a very good view of the action. There are comedic actors keeping the earlybird audience amused with their antics as per other Cirque shows, but instead of clowns you get Dick and Izzy, the in-show sex therapists. This over-the-top duo are quite liberal with brandishing sex toys, much to the embarrassment of some audience members who probably didn’t think Cirque Du Soleil could get so bawdy.

Once the actual show begins, you are introduced to hostess Edie, Mistress of Seduction who is a tour-de-force drag show all on her own. She promises a night of open-minded and sensual entertainment and I can attest that you are not disappointed. Stunning African dancing gets your pulses racing before leading you into the first acrobatic act; two very flexible nude ladies in a huge glass bowl of water. It was a very visually captivating performance.

I’d rather not be a spoiler and give a blow-by-blow account of the entire show but you can certainly expect a lot of mid-air acrobatics, silk rope work, and a very healthy amount of nudity. The performers aren’t shy about stripping down but given how amazing their bodies are they certainly don’t need to be. Ladies will be happy to know that there is an act involving the resident beefcake to get them hot and bothered.

Towards the end of the show there is an act called ‘Gentle Orgy’ where all the performers of Zumanity come out to simulate a bit of group loving on a rotating platform, which is an absolutely gorgeous feast for the eyes and senses. You start feeling like a bit of a voyeur but before you get too fixated, Mistress Edie breaks the trance with some audience participation fun.

Zumanity is best described as part cabaret and part burlesque with a whole lot of sexy giggles in between. It’s also an exploration of human sexuality/sensuality in its many forms and you’re left with a feeling of being uninhibited. Zumanity is definitely a hot show to enjoy with your partner in deviousness so if you find yourself in Vegas one day, do check it out.

The unnamed 27-year-old woman had disrobed near a hiking trail and thrown her clothes over the cliff before trying to climb down to Black’s Beach, a popular clothing-optional location near San Diego, on Tuesday afternoon, the Daily Mail reports.

But the woman found herself stranded on a ledge on the way down, unable to climb up or down.

After 15 minutes the woman was noticed by a passerby, who contacted emergency services.

A female lifeguard managed to abseil down to rescue the woman, strapping her into a harness before providing her with some borrowed clothing.

The woman was unharmed aside from scraped knees.

She was cited by park rangers for entering a restricted part of the state park but will not be charged for the rescue.
