The Fitbit counts our steps, the Oura ring tracks our sleep, now a smart condom will monitor our sexual performance.

The company British Condoms has unveiled the i.Con, a ring that fastens at the base of a condom during sex, tracking the speed and number of thrusts, skin temperature and … girth measurement — among other statistics.

The company boasts the i.Con as “extremely comfortable, water resistant and lightweight,” in which wearers will barely notice its there.

The ring uses nano-chips and sensors to take measurements of various bodily indicators and connects to the i.Con app using Bluetooth technology. A user can download their results once the “session” is completed. The statistics — which also include the number of different positions — are kept anonymous. However, a user can share their accomplishments with friends and the rest of the world. Or, they could compare themselves to the numbers posted by other i.Con users.

The i.Con’s battery lasts about six to eight hours. It recharges using a USB port. For those of you wondering, it has a “band adjustment feature” to account for different sizes.

Priced at just more than $60, the i.Con isn’t yet available. British Condoms said it’s still undergoing final testing stages on the i.Con. However, people can pre-order it on the British Condoms website.

A couple explicitly makes love on the pharmacist’s counter, in the aisle and on the floor in order to find the perfect size rubber. While staff members are eager to pop up and help, TV watchdogs did everything they could to get it canned.

TV watchdogs in Australia have banned a condom commercial for being too sexy.

The spot for “Four Seasons Condoms” shows a young couple trying out different sized rubbers at a pharmacy.

“It really brings out the color of your eyes,” says a worker as the pair romp on the store counter in front of his very eyes.

The adventurous duo then goes on to make love on the floor and in the aisles — as another staffer keeps a close watch on whether they like the product.

The pharmacist is happy to see his customers going at it right on his countertop — but TV watchdogs were much less amused.

The ad was never allowed on screens down under over complaints it was too graphic.

But the firm uploaded it online, and it’s since gone viral on YouTube with over 1 million views.

The problem with condoms is that they don’t get used as often as they should. But an innovative new product by a British biotech firm may change men’s minds: called CSD500, the condom helps men keep their erection longer.

It’s been dubbed the “Viagra condom,” but that’s not entirely accurate. The new product is lined with a vasodilating gel, which increases blood flow to the penis and helps maintain erection. But unlike the pill, it’s not designed for men who have erectile dysfunction; rather, it’s meant for men who have trouble keeping erections specifically while using a condom.

CSD500 was developed by Futura Medical and licensed to the Durex brand, which is owned by consumer-products company Reckitt Benckiser. The product is close to regulatory approval in the U.K. and may be on the market within the year, according to an article in the Wall Street Journal. If the manufacturer seeks FDA approval to market the condom in the U.S., it will have to provide more clinical trial data.

The CSD500 is certainly an innovative idea, not least because it targets male users. Most advances in birth control — like hormone patches or pills — are geared toward women. And many men would probably agree that the stalwart but lowly condom has been long overdue for an upgrade.

So how does Futura’s new invention work? The trick was getting the gel to stay put inside the condom, so that it would not affect the condom-wearer’s partner. According to the Journal:

Finding an active ingredient was straightforward — it’s a generic compound for the treatment of angina, a severe chest pain caused by lack of blood flow to the heart. However, “immobilizing” the gel in the condom, so the vasodilator only touches the wearer during sexual intercourse, was the clever part.

“The challenge is having a stable product in a condom — a gel that doesn’t do anything detrimental to the condom,” Futura Chief Executive James Barder said.

“Some products can degrade the latex very quickly,” said Mr. Barder, noting that adding the vasodilator to the lubricant is complicated. “It has to be immobilized in the condom.” Most of the patents protecting CSD500 are associated with this immobilization, Mr. Barder said.

Although CSD500 isn’t meant to compete with Viagra, despite its nickname, a check of online sales of the drug would suggest there’s no shortage of men who use it recreationally, which bodes well for future sales of an erection-encouraging condom.

But regulators are more interested in what the condom promises to do for rates of sexually transmitted infections (STI). A product that improves firmness and duration will surely encourage condom use, but the CSD500 also combats another common cause of STI transmission: condoms that slip off because of erectile problems.

Reckitt Benckiser plans to investigate the condom’s commercial viability in Europe if it is approved, and then expand to the U.S. market.

Malaysian police have arrested three men over the disappearance of more than 700,000 ultrathin condoms that went missing as they were being exported to Japan.

The suspects, workers from a condom factory in the northern state of Perak, will be held for police investigation until Saturday, local police chief Shukri Dahlan told state media.

“Having questioned the suspects, we have reason to believe that this was the job of an international syndicate,” Shukri said.

Sagami Rubber Industries said earlier this month that about 726,000 polyurethane condoms, with a retail value of around $US1.5 million, were loaded into a container at a factory in Malaysia, but the shipment was empty when it arrived in Tokyo.

Want to have sex with Becks? Now anyone can!

Condoms decorated with the soccer star’s gorgeous mug will soon be available for sale in a Madrid museum. Hmm, because unsafe sex after hooking up at museums is totally on the rise?

Actually, the condoms are part of an art exhibition at the museum called Tears of Eros.

Baroness Thyssen, the wife of the museum founder, says she totally supports the unusual project. “I don’t see why anyone should be scandalised. It is a way of bringing art and responsibility,” she says.

It’s also a way of making a ton of money. Wonder if Becks is getting a cut?

Condoms are an essential part of having sex today, particularly in the lifestyle where we all need to be responsible. They prevent disease and, if you’re willing to give them...

Condoms are an essential part of having sex today, particularly in the lifestyle where we all need to be responsible. They prevent disease and, if you’re willing to give them a chance … they can be fun! The modern condom is a far cry from those that were made from pig skin and the like. Most are virtually like second skin and rather than reduce pleasure, many are designed to enhance enjoyment for all parties involved. To make sure that condoms work as they should, it’s important to know how they should be used.

Buying condoms that suit you best
Use latex condoms only. Natural skin condoms feel good, but they do not prevent diseases. If you or your partners are allergic to latex (it might give you a rash or irritation), try polyurethane condoms. For those who are well-endowed, you may need a condom that have more ’give’. Most manufacturers offer larger sized condoms. Having a larger penis is no longer an excuse to give condoms a miss.

It’s all in the preparation
Make sure you store condoms somewhere handy but where it is cool and dry. Latex actually rots if it is kept in warm places. Never use condoms that have reached their used-by dates, or those that have been taken out of its packet. Make sure the packet is intact. Latex condoms need to be treated with care.

Practice makes perfect
Do you really know how to put a condom on properly. Most guys have had a lot of practice but not all girls may have had a go.Firstly, use care to roll the condom down the length of your penis as soon as you get erect. Uncircumsised penises may need to have the foreskin pulled down before the condom is put on. The tip of the condom should be pinched to squeeze the air out to ensure that there’s enough room for things to come (so to speak). Jewellery or fingernails can cause small rips or tears in a condom so take care!. A condom should be kept on the penis until ejaculation. If you are inside your partner withdraw and carefully remove the condom and dispose of it. Use a new condom each time you come inside your partner.

Gliding through…
Your condom will probably come with some lubrication inside, and this may contain a disinfectant called Nonoxynol which effectively kills diseases. For the pleasures of intercourse without discomfort, you will probably want to use additional lubricant on the outside of the condom. Only use water-based lubricants and never use petroleum-based lubricants like Vaseline or other oils or jellies because these will destroy latex and render your condoms useless..

Enjoy!
Condoms can be sexy! Think of them as a tool for safe, sexual enjoyment. Learn how to talk about them, to put them on yourself sexily, or – if your partner’s a man – to put them on your partner sexily. Remember, condoms remove the need to worry about all the things that make sex not fun. Just lie back and enjoy.
