A Macquarie banker has been busted on live national television checking out photos of a topless woman on his computer.
The embarrassing gaffe for the “millionaires factory” happened while Macquarie analyst Martin Lakos was being interviewed during a live cross with Seven News presenter Chris Bath yesterday afternoon.
As Mr Lakos discussed the Reserve Bank’s decision not to raise interest rates, his colleague was seen in the background studying three images from what appeared to be Miranda Kerr’s photo shoot for GQ magazine.
And if Seven’s audience was wondering what this banker looked like, he helpfully swivelled around in his chair and stared down the camera just as Mr Lakos threw back to the studio.
A Seven spokesman reportedly confirmed the station received complaints from viewers.
“We have expressed our concern to Macquarie,” the spokesman was quoted by the Daily Telegraph as saying.
The bank released a statement yesterday saying it was dealing with the matter internally.
“Macquarie has strict policies in place surrounding the use of technology,” the statement said.
