It’s possibly the most natural thing in the world, but for many the naked human body remains a taboo.
Nudists believe that being in the nude is to express their true form and a means to bring them closer to the natural world.
Why then are we embarrassed of our bodies, of being naked? This attitude is being challenged by some recent events in the news.
Naked, is in!
Nakedness is suddenly in the public eye:
• This weekend in Melbourne there’s a naked bike ride event (AS Bare As You Dare).
• In New York City there is a Yoga studio teaching Yoga in the nude.
• An attempt to smash the current Guinness Book of World Records for the most amount of people skinny dipping at one time is being help this Sunday in Swanbourne Beach, WA.
As Bare As You Dare (WNBR), is happening this Sunday in Melbourne, 30th of March. It’s a world event whose participants “peacefully expose the vulnerability of cyclists, humanity and nature in the face of cars, aggression, consumerism and non-renewable energy.”
Bold & Naked Yoga Studio in NYC has started a new trend of Naked Yoga and according to them “it’s about being comfortable in your own skin and the amazing confidence that comes with it”. Naked Yoga has its origins in ancient Indian practice and it’s meant to be liberating and helpful in building self-esteem.
It’s seems that there is a movement all around the world for the celebration of the naked body. For us at RedHotPie, everyday is a celebration of our bodies, our nakedness and sexuality.
Let’s have fun and celebrate our naked bodies.
