Irish budget airline Ryanair is planning to start screening porn films on flights.
Boss Michael O’Leary told The Sun he wanted to launch a service in which passengers could use an app on their iPad or smartphone to gamble, play games, watch movies or view sex scenes.
The services — which are expected to be at least a year away — would be offered on a pay-per-use basis, like hotel room or pay TV services.
‘I’m not talking about having it on screens on the back of seats for everyone to see,” Mr O’Leary said. “It would be on handheld devices.”
“Hotels around the world have it, so why wouldn’t we?”
But Bob Atkinson, from travel deals website Travelsupermarket, said the idea could lead to awkward situations.
“There may be a market for porn in hotels, but that’s in the privacy of a room,” Mr Atkinson told The Sun. “Anyone could see it on a plane. It’s wrong.”
