COUPLES will have sex in front of a live audience before talking about it with a panel of experts for a new TV program.
The Independent reported three couples – one gay, two straight – will make love in an opaque, sound-proof room attached to a studio, before being quizzed on their experiences immediately afterwards for an upcoming British show.
The makers of Sex Box, the UK’s Channel 4 said the show aims to ‘reclaim sex from pornography’.
“Sex Box absolutely intends to be an open and adult conversation about sex, something we feel is currently being overlooked by mainstream programming,” Ralph Lee, the broadcaster’s head of factual, said.
Lee said it wasn’t hard to find case studies, but admitted filtering out exhibitionists was tricky.
“Those who appear have a personal reason for doing so – perhaps some felt that their sex lives were not represented in the media, so it was a chance to show the sort of sex they have,” he said.
The expert panel includes agony aunt Mariella Frostrup, psychotherapist Phillip Hodson, sex and relationship expert Tracey Cox and US sex columnist Dan Savage.
The program starts at the end of this month.
