Well it would appear a little jaunt to St Tropez has become firmly wedged in U2 frontman, Bono’s throat recently after some highly suspect photos surfaced showing the 48 year old rocker getting quite cosy with 19 year old holiday makers Andrea Feick and Hannah Emerson.
Now these are some seriously attractive young girls, and this guy is a rock star of the highest order, sure… but 30 years? When does the gap become too great? Does it ever become to great? The late Anna Nicole-Smith may have suggested that it does not… well dear Anna, bless your soul… we think maybe it does.
Now having said that, we’re gonna firstly state that there is no proof that anything happenned between Ireland’s rock god and those hard bodied young ladies; Bono’s marriage to his wife of 28 years is one of the strongest in show biz, but that said… say they all had a few drinks, a little bit of dancing broke out at the club, then maybe they all headed back to the luxury yacht, they had a few more drinks and before you know it Bono was on all four bleeting like a goat while the two girls stripped for their rock sugar daddy… we’re just saying, it might have happened. And so what if it did, Bono is a nice enough guy, he keeps himself in shape and he’s got a brain in his head. Is there anything wrong with women being attracted to the strong, older male type? Why does it happen?
Well the head shrinkers will point you gently toward the daddy – daughter relationships which can get a little sus if you look at the scenario too hard; long story short, some girls crave the strong father figure, the guiding hand and validation that a father figure can provide – as they move away from the family home they can look for those qualities in a lover, in many cases they have been without a father figure for long periods, if not their whole lives.
Another aspect in the attraction can simply be chalked up to power. The older, dominant male that weilds power and status can be quite intoxicating to younger women. Power by association is still power and it’s a basic human condition to want it. This relationship works so very beautifully due to the fact that in Western civilisation, one of the socially accepted perks of being a powerful male with wealth and standing is the ability to date beautiful young women… some perk.
Not that the gent in question would mind a lot of the time but there are more than a few girls that can bunndle the older man chase into a wider act of rebellion against society, family or themselves. No matter how common place it is, the young girl/senior gent relationship is a little tabboo making it a little more dangerous in the eyes of some girls.
So drop in some comments below… have you been on either side of a relationship that spanned the years… how did it work out for you and what are your thoughts on such relationships today?
