It’s commonly believed that with age sex fades away, for both men and women.

However, according to a study by the University of Pittsburgh, this is not true, especially for women.

Women’s sex lives get better with age – their sex lives peak between the ages of 45 and 60, said the lead author of one small study, Dr. Holly N. Thomas, an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh told Today.

“We were surprised to find a group of women who said that sex actually got better for them as they got older”

While frequency of sex declines with age for women, there’s a definite uptick in quality.

This study found that the reason older women have better sex is thanks to:

1. A better understanding of their bodies and how it works when it comes to sex.

2. An increased self-confidence and more comfortable in their bodies

3. Better communication skills to ask what they want in bed

Evidently, women’s body knowledge and confidence can have an effect on their bedroom pleasure, on their sexual desire as well as her ability to experience sexual arousal.

Growing old doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom; after all, the quantity of sex may be less, but the quality only gets better.

These results represent good news for the pleasure-seeking sexy cougars out there.
